Subjects for PT3

Mathematics examination only consists of one paper with the given time of 2 hours. The paper consists of 10 main questions and followed by 2-3 sub-questions in each question. Students will be tested on Whole Numbers, Fractions and Decimals, Financial Mathematics, Lines and Angles, Square, Square roots, Cubes and Cubes root, Pythagoras’ Theorem, Statistics, Coordinates, Linear, Simultaneous and Quadratic Equations and etc.

Sejarah subject features both national history and international history. However, it focuses more on Malaysia’s road to independence during the British colonial times. As for PT3, there will be no examination,however the candidates are required to do a portfolio and that will be the actual marks for Sejarah PT3

Geografi subject focuses more on human geography rather than physical geography and is primarily focused on Malaysia. It features environmental geography, geomatics and regional geography. As for PT3, there will be no examination. However, form 3 students are required to do a portfolio and the mark will be contribute as the final marks for Geografi subject.

Science examination consists of one paper with the given time of 2 hours. Usually Science examination requires students to label the diagram, formulate the hypothesis, determine the variables of the experiments, and tabulate the data. The topic covers various aspects of Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

Pendidikan Islam (Islamic Education) consists of only one paper and divided into three sections. The time given to complete the paper is 2 hours.

Kemahiran Hidup subject is categorized in 4 elective groups which are Kemahiran Teknikal (Technical Skills), Ekonomi Rumahtangga (Home Economics), Sains Pertanian (Agricultural Science) and Perniagaan dan Keusahawanan (Business and Enterpreurship). Normally the schools already decided the syllabus among the elective groups. Before the PT3 examination, students are required to complete the Kemahiran Hidup project which contribute marks to the actual exam. Kemahiran Hidup paper is a structured question which requires student to complete it in 2 hours time. The question will be based on the elective group taken.

Bahasa Melayu PT3 paper is a written examination. The paper consists of four sections and it has to be completed in 2 hours time. Students will be tested on Tatabahasa (Malay Grammar), Komponen Sastera (Literature Component), and Penulisan (Malay Writing). However, before the PT3 examination, students must undergo oral examinations and listening comprehension examinations which contribute marks to the actual PT3 examination.

English PT3 paper is a written examination. The paper consists of four sections and it has to be completed in 2 hours time. Students will be tested on English Grammar, Comprehension, English Literature Component, and Writing. Similar to Bahasa Melayu, before the PT3 examination students must undergo oral examinations and listening comprehension examinations which contribute marks to the actual PT3 examination.
